FOR KATI:
“Catch! calls the Once-ler.
He lets something fall.
It's a Truffula Seed.
It's the last one of all!
You're in charge of the last of the Truffula Seeds.
And Truffula Trees are what everyone needs.
Plant a new Truffula. Treat it with care.
Give it clean water. And feed it fresh air.
Grow a forest. Protect it from axes that hack.
Then the Lorax
and all of his friends
may come back.”

AP BIO Reminder TEST TOMORROW- ALSO READ PREVIOUS POSTS FOR YOUR VOCAB ASSIGNMENT
AP BIO:
TOMORROW YOU'LL FINALLY GET TO TAKE THE TEST YOU SHOULD HAVE TAKEN LAST TUESDAY.
REMEMBER YOU MAY USE A MIND MAP- FOLLOW THE GUIDELINE FOR THE MIND MAP.
USE ONLY ONE SIDE OF THE PAPER.
YOU MUST HAVE A COLORED PICTURE FOR EACH OF YOUR MAIN HEADINGS (I'm guessing they'll be carbs, lipids. proteins, nucleic acids, enzyme activity and functional groups but you can choose any you like).
DRAWINGS OF THE MOLECULE WILL COUNT IF THAT IS SOMETHING YOU WANT TO DO, BUT IT STILL NEEDS TO BE IN COLOR.
AP ENVIRONMENTAL:
LET'S HOPE OUR FISH HAVE SURVIVED BECAUSE YOUR ECO-COLUMNS ARE JUST PERFECTLY BALANCED!
WE'LL COVER MORE ON AGRICULTURE/ DIRT TOMORROW.
ENJOY YOUR SUNDAY!

4th block- I know many of you do not have your vocab. notebook. Feel free to do the vocab. assignment on separate paper- you can staple it into your notebook later.
2nd block- I know you have your notebooks, but if someone was absent Monday and didn't get theirs, they should also do the vocab. on separate paper.
Videos from class today if you need to take a second look/listen:
Bozeman: Gibbs free energy
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DPjMPeU5OeM
crash course DNA replication
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8kK2zwjRV0M
Next test is on cells and cell transport- Chapters 4 and 5- Snow or Shine your test will be on 2/19/14
Next lab is on osmosis and diffusion - lab #4 in your manual-hopefully we'll get to do it on Friday so have it read by then- expect a pre-lab quiz!
If we are snowed in, get some reading done!

AP Bio and AP Env. Sci. Lab write ups for Monday
AP Biology:
For Tomorrow you should have the Intro (same thing as background info.), Purpose (general statement about why you are doing the lab), hypothesis (actual If------then---- statement). Materials and procedure written up for both labs (artificial selection and the enzyme lab).
Since the enzyme lab was completed you should also have the results (observations and data) as well as the conclusion written.
You need to have a properly constructed graph and/or table for each experiment!
AP Environmental Science:
For Tomorrow you should have the Intro (same thing as background info.), Purpose (general statement about why you are doing the lab), hypothesis (actual If------then---- statement). Materials and procedure written up for both labs ( eco-column and the soil texture lab).
Since the soil texture lab was completed you should also have the results (observations and data) as well as the conclusion written. One conclusion that encompasses all 4 activities will suffice or you can do several individual conclusions (one for each activity).
You need to have a properly constructed graph and/or table for each experiment!
