Well, it looks like I'm going to be out of commission for a while. I'm so sorry I can't be there to help you review for your exams.
I'm going to help as best I can through this blog.
If you are planning on taking the AP exams you should be reviewing every night either by reading the AP prep books you have or by watching the videos; Bozeman, crash course or APES in a box for AP ENVIRONMENTAL.
AP Bio project: You don't need to hand it in until FRIDAY-
I'm going to post all of the best review links here as well as daily lesson plans.
links:
AP BIOLOGY
Bozeman- I would go through everyone of these, during class you'll watch these, but what you haven't seen in class you should definitely do on your own at home.
http://www.bozemanscience.com/ap-biology/
Crash course: I would use this to go over the human physiology and immunity information.
videos 25 through 34 are must see videos

AP ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE
your exam is just around the corner so if you are planning on taking it you should be studying every night for it. Read through your prep guide if you have one and watch these videos:
APES in a Box:
https://www.youtube.com/user/APESinaBOX/videos
you'll be viewing many of them during class through the week.

AP BIO and AP ENVIRONMENT 4/14/14
2nd and 4th block
AP BIOLOGY: Watch these, take notes, pause as needed- have a student at the computer to regulate the pace so they can pause as needed.
When they are finished with these they can work on their vocabulary assignment that is due tomorrow.
Please have someone water the plants- there's a jug with fertilizer water on the counter.
*If videos say error, go to history and clear everything, then refresh and try again- If it continues to be a problem The basket with the yellow sub folder has some alternative work they can do.

AP Environmental Science:
complete this case study: YOU Can complete parts I and II as a class, but the last part should be completed independently

AP BIOLOGY and AP ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE
Next week we will begin selling the re-usable water bottles we talked about.
I thought this was interesting so I'm sharing it with you:
http://www.banthebottle.net/articles/plastic-water-bottles-impose-health-and-environmental-risks/
"Despite recycling infrastructure that exists in order to facilitate the recycling of these bottles, according to the Container Recycling Institute, 86% of plastic water bottles used in the US become garbage that ends up in landfills throughout the country. Considering that approximately 60 million plastic water bottles are used every day in the US, we can assume that nearly 18,834,000,000 end up in the landfill each year. Each bottle can take up to 700 years to decompose."
If enough students purchase them we may have enough money left over to do this:
http://www.lifesaverusa.com/become-a-lifesaver.htm
the TED talk by the guy who made it!!
http://www.ted.com/talks/michael_pritchard_invents_a_water_filter
We may even have enough left to add bench or bird bath to the garden area we'll be completing next week.
If you have access to some good, weed free dirt, please bring it in next week- we need a lot to fill those garden beds outside of our class room.
Have a great weekend!

AP Bio and AP environmental- no homework tonight :)
Hey- we really need to iron out the water bottle details- I'd like to order them before spring break. So if you don't want the stainless steel bottles find one you like and show me tomorrow! Also, I think we are going to go with the "Big Red Goes Green" slogan and have SPHS on there somewhere.
Here's the site and the bottle I liked, but look around and see if you find something you like better!
