Today's Sub Plan
For today:
First
Students need to watch the following clip: DO THIS AS A CLASS
https://www.khanacademy.org/science/biology/developmental-biology/development-and-differentiation/v/somatic-germ-cells
Next
Students will use the chrome books to find images of the following cell types:
Muscle cell, neuron, red blood cell, intestinal epithelial cell, taste receptor cell, macrophage
Obtain a piece of white paper (there is a stack on my desk) and fold it so that you have 6 different boxes on one side.
In each box sketch out one of the assigned cells then color it (at least 3 different colors) to show details specific to those cells. Label each cell with it's various parts (ex. for a neuron you would label the axon, dendrites and myelin sheath) then label each box with the cell type illustrated.
feel free to use my coloring supplies up front
Put your name on the back and hand it in before leaving
Homework - start this in class if you have time! DNA coloring sheets!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Fq2mOCTX6k You need to watch it!
ALSO- If you have not completed any of your previous word lists you should have those completed by Tuesday October 2nd if you want to receive a "re-take" project grade.
REMEMBER- your homework window pane grades will be averaged for a test grade at the end of every 6 weeks. If you've only handed in one set of window panes then that means you'll receive a 33% test/ project grade. FIX YOUR WINDOW PANES TO IMPROVE YOUR GRADE! Need help with cell organelles and their jobs?
